SSS – Episode 44: Stardew Valley

The Synics sharpen their gardening tools and struggle through a few seasons of Stardew Valley. Hear what they think about this charming indie farming sim.  Berto comes back for a monster Whatcha Playin’ segment, Garrett mini reviews the Sonic movie, and Corona Virus has developers pulling out of gaming conventions left and right. (Apologies for the shaky audio on this one, we were recording on-the-go over hotel internet).

SSS – Episode 43: 2020 Preview

In this episode the Synics debate 2020 game releases and which of the next gen consoles they think might ‘win’.  Berto is still absent from the cast because his newborn rules with an iron fist, but he’ll be back soon enough. Atari thinks their brand is strong enough to warrant building hotels, and Blizzard massively screws up the Warcraft 3 Reforged launch.

SSS – Episode 42: Blasphemous (Game Club)

The Synics are back with another SSS game club game.  See what Tim and Garrett (Papa Berto is on Baby Duty) think of the equally gothic and gorgeous metroidvania style indie: Blasphemous.  They also speculate on next gen console rumors and the narrowing of the PC/console divide.  What did you think of Blasphemous?

SSS – Episode 41: SSS Awards 2019

The Synics vote on their choice for Game of the Year, Game of the Decade, and so much more for the SSS Awards to round out an amazing decade for gaming.  What was your game of the year? What was your game of the decade? Find out what we think deserves accolades going into the new decade!

Episode 40 – Return of the Obra Dinn (Game Club)

The Synics are back at full strength! For the first time since episode 37, the whole team is back together to talk, once again, about all things gaming. Garrett gushes over the RE:3 remake, Berto is loving the indies on Switch, and Tim talks about something that is so incredibly Tim.
After the Spin, the team talks about the game club game for this episode and starts getting deep into how hard Return of the Obra Dinn hit for them (or didn’t). All this and all the other usual Synic goodness you come to expect from the show.

Episode 39 – Thanksgaming

The Synics (minus Tim this week) give their thanks to 2019 for all the great things to happen in gaming this year.  In the synical spin we also go nuts for Half Life: Alyx and wag our fingers at the Google Stadia release. What are you thankful for in video gaming this year?

Episode 38 – Extra Life 2019

The Synics discuss their recent marathon gaming stream for Extra Life 2019 where they were super successful in raising over $2600 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  What an amazing day! Big thank you to everybody for participating, donating, chatting, and watching our huge stream (an especially big shout out to Uthegamers.com for a massive donation match)!

Tim and Garrett (Berto was sick this week unfortunately) also bring up Blizzards bombshell game announcements, Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC, and the Google Stadia Release games for the Synical Spin.  One more time thank you all for helping raise money #FortheKids!

Episode 37 – Would you Survive?

It’s all Hallow’s Eve and the Synics are getting into the spirit of things by talking about which fictional game world they would likely survive in…hint, they would probably die in a lot of them. The Synical Spin includes the Blizzard/Hong Kong protests fiasco, The Last of Us 2 Delayed, and the goofy beginnings of new indie game  ‘Hotel Barcelona’. You get all the usual Synical goodness that you know and love in this latest episode. Come for the news, stay for the nonsense talk.

Episode 36 – Bastion(Game Club)

Take a seat on our virtual couch as we relive and replay the indie classic Bastion from Supergiant Games!  What’s your take on this fantastic, isometric action RPG? Listen in to hear what we think. Also in this episode you get all the usual Synic goodness: We talk about games we’ve played (other than Bastion) and in the Spin we we dissect the new Playstation 5 tidbits we read in Wired, we talk about the Blizzard Chinese connection fiasco, and Google Stadia possibly being a broadband bust.

All this and more Synics goodness in the latest, meaty episode.
